Cloth - Collaboration with Jodi Ann Nicholson
A work in progress piece using accelerometers to track Jodi’s movements. The data captured from accelerometers worn on each of her limbs generates both the sound and the visuals behind. Part of our R&D project Sound & Movement.
Sound Piece by Will Salter
My first ever vocal performance. It was a score commissioned for newCELF’s event - Unaccompanied. It was this experience that led me to combining vocal performance with electronics in Incantations (below).
Murmuration
Murmuration is a partially improvised piece. The performer is provided with pitch materials and instructed to react to the swarm on the projection. The interaction with the particles is considered equal with the sonic outcome.
Noise Visualisation
Using Processing to create visuals from the output of a Max/MSP patch.
Visceral Mindfulness
Visceral Mindfulness is a multimedia piece created for FORECAST Forum in Berlin. The piece is a meditation on the barrage of data that is projected at us daily by the internet.
Incantations
Incantations is a combination of my explorations with gestural control devices and vocal improvisation. This was create for SLANT’s Event Voiceworks and live streamed.
Light Installation - SHIFT
A performance at the end of a three-day residency at SHIFT art space in Cardiff. An installation was installed in the place that detected light. I played alongside it with an instrument designed for performance.
Elementary
Elementary uses a Gametrak controller to manipulate murmurations of particles. The piece is my first exploration with using a particle system in visual and sonic means.
Audio-Visual Improvisation
Using Processing, I am exploring the creation of reactive visuals alongside free- improv on electric guitar.
